Spanish Moss Covered Oak Tree Venues You Should Be Considering

Charleston, South Carolina is most known for those Spanish Moss covered Oak Trees that are the picture of Lowcountry charm. And so you can imagine, a lot of couples want that to be the backdrop of their wedding. While there are a lot of well known venues that offer this exact look, there are some lesser known venues that should get the consideration they truly deserve.

Let's dive into them shall we?

Hobcaw Yacht Club

The Hobcaw Yacht Club is a beautiful venue tucked away on the Wando River in Mount Pleasant. It has a clubhouse that is perfect for a bridal suite or grooms quarters right next to the main venue.

The Clubhouse, which is the main venue, boasts of large open spaces and a full kitchen and separate bar area for the perfect reception hall.

But the main draw, is the large oak tree covered in, you guessed it, Spanish Moss. It's the perfect setting for a picturesque Lowcountry wedding.

Runnymede Plantation

Runnymede Plantation is a gorgeous private event venue located off of Hwy 61 in West Ashley. It's right between two well-known historic plantations, Middleton Place and Magnolia Plantation.

This gorgeous venue offers multiple site options, including a 5000 sq ft tent. It's off the Ashley River, which is a gorgeous backdrop for photos. In addition to the woodland vibe, Magnolia trees and Oak trees, there is a single, very large Spanish Moss covered Oak Tree in the middle of the grounds.

Kiawah River House

The Kiawah River House is a truly spectacular venue tucked away on Kiawah Island. It's a quaint venue that offers all of the Lowcountry charm you could possibly imagine.

This waterfront venue, while far from the city, feels like you enter into another world, an old world version of Charleston.
