Let's talk about prints.

Y'all, I cannot tell you how PASSIONATE I am about getting your images printed. Let me tell you why.

The Internet is great for sharing, but we can't rely on it for storing. I take photos and see them on Facebook and I always think - what happens if Facebook disappears. Or the cloud. Or your hard drive crashes?

You lose ALL of those memories.

It feels crazy to think about a world without the Internet or Facebook or Instagram, but it's not outside of the realm of possibility. Even if those things are still around, hackers are constantly taking FB and IG pages hostage (I'm STILL fighting to get one of my IG pages back). There's just so much that can go wrong with digital files.

In addition to things going wrong, digital mediums are constantly changing and growing and evolving. If you were born in the 1900s like me (omg that sounds ancient), you have already been through several digital changes. I started out with cassette tapes, which turned into CDs, which turned into MP3s, and now everything is streaming. I started out watching video tapes, which turned into DVDs, which evolved into streaming. Netflix used to PHYSICALLY mail DVDs to my house.

And if you went through any of those transitions, you remember losing all of your media. Unless you took the time to convert you tapes to CDs to MP3 files (most of us didn't), those media that you spent hundreds of dollars on were just useless. Obsolete.

The same thing can happen to your images. One day, Facebook will be obsolete. Your version of cloud storage will be moot.

When that happens, where will your images be?

OK. Stepping down off my soap box, now. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Wall Art

You have all of these beautiful images, why not show them off? The first thing I did when I got my wedding photos back was pick out the ones I wanted to hang. I knew exactly where I wanted them to go and they're still there. I know that as my relationship matures, and as our family grows, those images will get updated and replaced. But I LOVE having beautiful images of us surrounding us in our home.

Albums

Albums are a great way to print all of your images in one easy to find place. It's great for people who visit to flip through your beautiful book and swoon over all of the perfect photos of you and your family or your special day.

Photo Boxes + Prints

Another fun way to print all of your images is to literally print each image and store them in a custom photo box. Photo boxes in general are great for storing memorabilia from your wedding or your children growing up.

Triptychs

The three image combo is one of my absolutely favorites. Something about the symmetry just gets me every time. These can be individually framed or in a single triptych frame.

It doesn't have to be photos of you!

I loved this. These photos are detail photos from this clients wedding. She loves books and is a photographer herself, so for her centerpieces she stacked vintage books and topped them with vintage cameras. Because those two things were so meaningful, she then framed those detail photos and hung them. How fun is that?

Don't let your precious memories dissolve into the ether.
